During this webinar you will learn to paint a row of sparrows on a branch. You will look at composition and using multiple reference images. As well as this, you will also explore a simple way of drawing birds, by looking for the egg shapes within them. You will harness the granulation properties of some of your paints, to give the impression of the softness of their feathers.

You will learn:

  • How to use multiple references in your compositions
  • Encouraging texture and granulation
  • Finding interconnected shapes
  • Negative painting can capture the light
  • Working wet in wet and wet on dry
  • Edges - hard and soft and how to soften edges
