Various exhibitions for Scottish artist
The year is shaping up well for an established Edinburgh artist. Priscilla Brightman, a graduate from Edinburgh College of Art, has an exhibition for one week at Hopetoun House near Edinburgh this April. This has been organized by Creative Coverage, which represents Priscilla and other professional artists. Priscilla returns in August to this popular venue for a month.
Between April 6 and May 5 Priscilla also has a solo show at Penicuik Gallery Cafe, 4 West Street, Penicuik, EH26 9DL. “I will be there on Sunday, April 12 from 2pm to 4pm to meet visitors,” says Priscilla, who has been an art tutor for adult learning. “My current paintings are a celebration of the conscientious and often unrecognized contributions that some people make on a daily basis,” she says. “That small transient decision to put in an extra effort can often leave a lasting imprint on those who benefit from it, and on the landscape around them. I plan to investigate further and record figures in the landscape both rural and urban, outside and inside. I might use mixed media as a means of depicting the environment that they find themselves in.”
