The 208th Open Exhibition of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours will be held at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1
The exhibition will open on Thursday 2 April and will close on Friday 17 April
Daily opening times are 10am - 5pm (closes at 1pm on the final day).
Please note that the exhibition will be closed on Easter Sunday, 12 April.
Founded in 1831, the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) represents and promotes the best in contemporary watercolour and water-based media painting.
The RI was formed to exhibit the best watercolours and to show non-members work alongside that of members, a policy that is still followed today.
This year’s exhibition will feature a wide variety of talks and demonstrations by RI members and the presentation of many Awards and Prizes.
These include:
- The Winsor & Newton Award of £3,000 cash
- The Winsor & Newton Product Prize of £1,000 of Winsor & Newton art materials of choice.
- The Leathersellers’ Prize of £1,000 awarded to an artist of 30 years or under,
- The President’s Choice Award of £750, plus many more.

A special event: A Celebration of Water Colour with Winsor & Newton will be held on Thursday 7 April 5.30pm to 7.30pm
