Stevenage Arts Society has it’s Spring Exhibition at The Denington Galleries at Springfield House, 24 High Street, Stevenage. SG1 3ET.
The exhibition will be running from Saturday 16th April till Saturday 30th April. The show will feature paintings in many different styles and mediums - watercolour, pastel, graphite, acrylics and oils.
The Jim Watson Award, with a prize of £50, will be presented by a local artist to the best painting of the show. There will also be a display of ceramics produced by members in the society’s own pottery.
One of the exhibitions contributors is Ann Laider who paints many topics but her favourite subject being floral and botanical themes. A society member since 2000, Anne is a self taught artist who now runs her own art classes locally in Ware, Stotfold and Codicote where she teaches watercolours, pastels and acrylics. She also enjoys exhibiting with the society and commented ‘I enjoy teaching techniques to my students and also I want to see what other people are doing so it always interesting to see what’s in the show’. See Anne's painting 'Where Are We Going' below.
The Society runs sessions for members at its studios at the following times - Monday afternoons, Tuesday evenings Wednesday mornings and evenings and Friday mornings.
The pottery is open on Monday and Tuesday afternoons also Tuesday to Friday mornings.
So if your interested in joining the society in either painting, drawing or pottery you are welcome to come along to the society’s spring shows private view on Friday 15th April to meet members.
