Can you spot the hidden gems at this year’s online Secret Art Show?

With artworks donated by acclaimed British artists such as Ray Richardson, Rebecca Campbell and Elysia Byrd and many other established UK artists, this is an exciting way to hone your art spotting skills and purchase an original piece of art for only £45 that could be worth a lot more!

This year over 470 brand new artworks from more than 250 different artists will be exhibited, including contributions from some of the UK’s leading contemporary artists, all keen to support the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Trust and help people living with multiple sclerosis. Here are just a few of the talented British artists supporting this year’s exhibition:

Elysia Byrd - Listed as an artist to invest in by Rebecca Wilson of Saatchi Online, Elysia is an up and coming Brixton based artist whose work was featured in the FBA Futures exhibition at The Mall Galleries in 2014. Elysia’s current work is influenced by her time spent in Brazil on the ALTO Residency. www.elysiabyrd.co.uk

Rebecca Campbell - Inspired by her travels through India and her mother’s love of horticulture, Rebecca’s work has been widely exhibited with solo shows in London, San Francisco, Mexico City and Houston, Texas. She won a Discerning Eye Purchase Prize in 2005. www.rebeccacampbell.co.uk

Andrew Macara - A renowned contemporary figurative artist who has been painting in oils for over 50 years. Andrew was elected in 1984 to the New English Art Club and his work is often seen in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition as well as at his many one-man exhibitions. www.macara.com

Ben Oakley - Ben Oakley is a prolific conceptual artist whose work doesn’t stick to one medium or subject matter. Ben has exhibited in the UK and Europe and sold alongside many of today’s modern masters. benoakleygallery.com

Rex Preston - Landscape artist Rex Preston trained at Newcastle under Lyme School of Art and then Derby College of Art, exhibiting regularly for many years at the Granby Gallery in Bakewell. Recently Rex has had a great deal of success with his abstracted landscapes. www.rexpreston.com

Ray Richardson - One of Britain's leading figurative artists, Ray Richardson has exhibited extensively since graduating from Goldsmiths College, London in 1987 where he was a contemporary of Damien Hirst. www.rayrichardson.co.uk

Jo Sopala, Fundraising Director for the MS Trust says:

“The Secret Art Show is an exciting event in the MS Trust’s calendar and we are overwhelmed by the fantastic support we receive from the artist community. More than 100 people are diagnosed with MS every week and this can be a frightening and uncertain time. The generous support of both artists and art enthusiasts means that the MS Trust is able to offer free information and support to everyone who needs it”.

Artist Brian Palmer, who has donated work adds:

"I think the Secret Art show appeals to customers because it gives them an opportunity to acquire some real art at a bargain price, with the chance it may be by someone famous.... and to artists, both amateur and professional, because it gives them an opportunity to show their work alongside others anonymously, on a level playing field...and all for a good cause".

Enjoy looking through the hundreds of artworks on offer, all 12cm x 12cm in size, featuring a large variety of creative styles and techniques. All the artwork is displayed anonymously and signed on the reverse, so that the artist remains a secret until the buyer receives it in the post. Each artwork will be sold for £45 and you will need to be quick off the mark to make sure you don’t miss a masterpiece!

The online gallery will be open to view from Monday 11 April with sales starting at 9am on Monday 18 April.
