Sky Landscape Artist of the Year

Scottish artist Moy Mackay contestant in the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Award, 2017

If you are following this year's Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Award on Sky Arts this year, you will see Scottish artist Moy Mackay as one of the contestants this week (TuesdayNovember 15).

From her home in the Scottish Borders, Moy fuels her passion for colour and texture with an unceasing inspiration drawn from her surroundings in the beautiful Tweed Valley, using merino fleece fibres in the same way that a painter uses brushstrokes. The result is a 'felt painting' of extraordinary warmth and texture. It is a fascinating, absorbing process which requires a fine balance between spontaneity and control and the wide spectrum of colours offers endless possibilities to create images of startling vibrancy and depth, a process which will be fascinating to watch develop on TV.

Moy has two Search Press books available to purchase in our online store. Click here for details if you are inspired to try something different.
