This year our 2020 calendar, produced in partnership with Art Safari, includes a monthly painting or drawing challenge with the chance to win £40 of art materials vouchers from Winsor & Newton every month.

For April we invited artists to enter sketches of birds or animals from life for the chance to win art materials vouchers worth £40 from Winsor & Newton.

The current lockdown clearly limited the subject matter available but we had some splendid entries none-the-less. Of these we chose this delicate watercolour of Three Hens in Vegetation by Louisa Saffiotti as the winning entry.
