We are sad to report the recent death of Kenneth Sacki of Jakar International Ltd whose life’s work was the art materials and drawing industry.

Kenneth joined Jakar in 1952, two years after it was founded by his mother Lydia. Kenneth started as a sales manager helping to develop the company into a successful distribution company of art and drawing materials. In 1960, Jakar’s success was rewarded with the sole UK distribution rights for Caran d’Ache colouring and drawing products. Fifty-six years on, Jakar still distribute these Swiss made high end products making them Caran d’ Ache’s oldest distributor.

In 1979 Paul Sacki (current MD) working closely with his father Kenneth, became the third generation to join Jakar and further grow the business. Kenneth, remained involved in the business as recently as 2015 and will be missed by many in the art industry.
