Jackson's Open Art Prize Winners Announced

Jackson's Art Supplies is pleased to share the winners for the inaugural Jackson's Open Art Prize.

Founded in 2000, Jackson's is an established manufacturer and retailer of fine art supplies. Run by and for artists, they understand how difficult it can be for amateur and professional practitioners alike to receive recognition for their work - Jackson's Open Art Prize is an addition to the art prize scene, which they hope will become a recognised standard of quality for entrants.

The inaugural competition attracted a huge response with 3100 entries from artists from over 70 countries, which were whittled down to a longlist of 410 and a shortlist of 54.

On 13th May 2016, the judging panel revealed the three winning entries: 1st place was awarded to British artist Max Naylor for his artwork 'Gorge' (pictured below), 2nd and 3rd place received £700 Jackson's Gift Vouchers and were awarded to artists Paula Nahmod and Carole Tonge. The winner of Jackson's Amateur Prize, £600 worth of Jackson's Gift Vouchers, was decided by public vote and awarded to Gabriela Lobato Ramos.
