ING Discerning Eye: Call for Entries

The ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, sponsored by ING Commercial Banking, is opening its doors to artists for another year. The Exhibition will feature a selection of small works independently chosen by prominent figures from different areas of the art world.

The selectors will each curate a section of the exhibition, with its own distinctive identity, giving the impression of six small exhibitions within the whole show. The selectors include: Emma Bridgewater - Founder, Emma Bridgewater Stephen Doherty - Director of Visual Communications at Somerset House, London Nicole Farhi CBE - Fashion designer and sculptor Steve Pill - Editor, Artists & Illustrators Magazine Stephen Snoddy - Gallery Director of The New Art Gallery, Walsall The exhibition provides an unusual opportunity for works by lesser-known artists to be hung alongside contributions from internationally recognised names. The selected works will be shown in an exhibition at The Mall Galleries, London from 12 - 22 November 2015. The Prizes on offer this year include the ING Purchase Prize (£5000), the Discerning Eye Founder’s Purchase Prize in honour of Michael Reynolds (£2500), Discerning Eye Chairman’s Purchase Prize (£1000), Meynell Fenton Prize (£1000), Benton Purchase Prize (£1000); Discerning Eye Sculpture and 3D Work Prize (£250). There will also be Regional Prizes of £250 each awarded to an outstanding entry in the national regions. UK artists are invited to submit up to six works in a variety of media: painting, print, sculptures, drawing and photography are all accepted. These works must be for sale, and should not exceed 20” (50 cm) in their largest dimension. The submission fee is £10 per work. Regional collection centres include: Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Doncaster, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Penzance, Newcastle, Norwich and Southampton. Works should be submitted to regional collection centres, or on the final hand-in dates to the Mall Galleries in London on 4 and 5 September 2015.
