Winsor & Newton are delighted to launch a competition for artists and enthusiasts alike, to go behind-the-scenes and see how their renowned Professional Acrylic paint is made. Join Winsor & Newton’s Innovation and Development department for half a day spent alongside their colourmen, exploring high performance art machines and the journey of Acrylic paint, engineered to perfection. The competition prize includes transport to London and two nights of accommodation.

Winsor & Newton is built on the foundations of art and science and constantly invests in innovation and development. The world-famous art materials are developed, from idea to inception, by a team of expert colourmen with a background in chemistry.

Competition winners will be able to meet these colour experts and hear from them directly on the process of colour creation, testing and innovation integral to Winsor & Newton since its origins. The colourmen will explain the important role of the machine within their work, outlining why each test is important to the production of the world’s finest art materials. In addition, winners will experience how the London laboratory showcases the brand’s joint valuing of art and science as it sits adjacent to two artists’ studios. This allows artists in residence to exchange ideas and experiences with chemists, collaborating to develop perfect paintings and materials to provide quality and inspiration.
