Following the successful inaugural ArtWaves festival in 2014, The Spa Bridlington is delighted to announce the second Festival.

ArtWaves is a visual art festival celebrating the life and colour of East Yorkshire bridging traditional art forms with digital, contemporary and urban art.

The festival will have fun activities for all ages and abilities, encouraging people to get creative and have-a-go at something new.

The programme includes demonstrations by award winning artists from the UK and beyond. As well as an arts trade fair there will be a range of workshops for families and artists including digital installations, marbling, animation, iPad art, photography, watercolours and bringing an urban edge to the festival there will be a live graffiti drop-in workshop.

For those with a passion for art there will be masterclasses with well known artists from across the UK and further workshops will be announced in due course.

Those with young children can put pen to cube on the giant doodle cube and explore aspects of digital film through Green Screens or get messy in one of the creative drop-ins.

The 2016 festival will see the return of the ArtWaves Open Exhibition launched in November 2015. There will be seven prizes with a total of £2,000 being awarded to those that have best captured the theme of ‘Journey’.

Artwaves Festival takes place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May.
