This is very striking and thought provoking - I love your use of colour, right down to the blue hair. I'd love to know how you achieved the chalky plaster-like quality in the background, because the contrast in texture behind the figure definitely adds something.

Thanks all very much. Bobbie, the background is just where I wipe the paint away. I outline with a brush to draw and wipe away any mistakes. This I find leaves a relatively decent background.
