Your mixed media approach has worked extremely well David. The very textural way of painting his face has added so much character to this wonderful actor of the past.

This time I used watercolour over a pencil sketch and then turned to gouache to build up the right side of his face and black permanent marker for the darkest spots

I'm an 81 year old retired surgeon . Art has been my lifelong obsession away from work and now my main focus in life together with woodwork. I enjoy creating and making in any medium but have always gravitated to drawing and watercolour. I've also had limited training in etching and sculpture.
