At the End of the Day - its just another inkling

Comments

The inkling is excellent.

That is super work David, congratulations.

Absolutely stunning detail, a superb piece, David

This is wonderful and I found your explanation really interesting. I like all the cross hatching in particular

You've introduced me to an ink I didn't know about, so thanks on that score alone. I have a number of elderly fountain pens, which will produce a good drawing in ordinary fp ink: but of course the results won't be permanent. From here, I shall go straight to Mr Google to find your ink: which has produced a fine result - with a bit of help from yourself, of course.

This is excellent and really well drawn . Thank you for explain how you achieved it I must hunt down my old fountain pens I have one with a very fine nib .

Quality work David and thanks for he info.

A really nice drawing David, lots of detail

Thanks for the ink tip - excellent result!

Better and better David!

What a marvellous ink drawing David, a beautifully expressed time of day.

It's been a special surprise to wake this AM to read all your comments. I didn't expect such interest. I might add that this was done on Arches 185 gms medium texture cotton paper and I was thinking of adding some loose watercolour over-wash . I might do a larger version . It was difficult to photograph as the finer detail drops out and the contrast is harsher than the original. Thanks again everyone.

This is lovely David. So much tonal variety and light

Really lovely work, David.

This time I'm using a fountain pen with a fine nib loaded with PLATINUM Carbon Ink which is a fine grade black pigment ink that is waterproof and the nearest to Indian Ink for use in a fountain pen . It will however clog up the pen if allowed to dry so after use the pen must be emptied and thoroughly irrigated till fully cleaned. This is only about 5x8" and took me 4 or 5 hours but its relaxing and time flows with the ink. A more flexible nib would give a more varied line and probably more interest.
