On the strength of this, I think you should do more in pen and ink - very encouraged to read you're using proper Indian ink, and dip pen (plus a bamboo): they give a more interesting line, and denser tones.

Thank you everyone- your responses are very helpful and most appreciated. It's past midnight here now and I'm watching a master illustrater inking using a brush on you tube. Must try that next time but bedtime now!

I don't usually work in pen and ink but decided to turn the graphite sketch I did for a painting previously posted in watercolour into an Indian ink work using a metal dip pen and a bamboo pen plus a bit of splatter and splash.

I'm an 81 year old retired surgeon . Art has been my lifelong obsession away from work and now my main focus in life together with woodwork. I enjoy creating and making in any medium but have always gravitated to drawing and watercolour. I've also had limited training in etching and sculpture.
