This one looks like he means business Christine. Super collage as always!

Very nice collage! Or maybe you just used some magical papers and that's why it looks that good ;)

like the simplicity of this Christine and so very topical

Very creative indeed Christine, love its simplicity.

Amazing blue background! Clever idea.

We ran the gauntlet of these wily birds while on holiday in Devon. One cheeky one stole the bacon that my grandsons were crab fishing with! I think you have caught that beady and knowing look really well.

I've just started to do collage myself these days to add new dimensions to my textures in my paintings of landscapes pushing them in a more abstract way so I was immediately drawn to this to see what you've done with the different papers.

As someone who loves wildlife there is another reason it caught my eye.

Finally, the main reason...because it is so good! I love it!

Naughty birds Christine, you have given him the mean look ;)

Very topical subject at the moment Christine......love your seagull, not sure if I would be as sweet on him if he pinched my chips!

Aghh Christine brings back memories for me I helped one who was walking as his feathers in his wing were gone he bit my arm and stomach so bad I had to go to a and e , he went to wythall animal sanctuary to wait while his feathers grew back I think he's gliding about again now , I think they live for 35 years lovely painting Christine.

I think seagulls must be really cheeky characters - this one certainly looks the part. I know they are getting a bad press at the moment and you probably have more than your fair share of them. It is not something we suffer from here - it is 7.20 am and we have magpies bashing around on the roof - their noisy partying wakes us early several times week! Excellent collage Christine.

Thank you all very much for your comments. Yes these birds do have rather a bad press and are considered a pest by a lot of people. They nest on the roof of our apartment block and dive bomb the residents to protect their young! i don't mind their dawn chorus, I've got used to it and it's all part of coastal living. They are quiet magnificent birds to look at and strut along the prom and round the town quite oblivious to the holiday makers and towns folk.

Looks like he's got his eye on someones fish and chips Christine.

Love this one Christine! I have recently moved to just along the coast from Worthing and the gulls make great subjects!! Love the blue!

They certainly do make great subjects! Simple yet so very dramatic. Super work, Christine!

Yup, I have had one trying to steal my fried fish once… It's great Christine!

i have to admit to pinching the title and the idea from a recent article in The Times.. These Herring Gulls are becoming increasingly bolder here in Worthing. Torn paper collage using mostly found papers.
