That’s a very ostentatious animal shelter. I suspect the Bishops staff lived in hovels….if they were lucky. A smashing watercolour sketch Willie, great perspectives on the arches.

The rather grand deer shelter in the Bishop's Park in Bishop Auckland sketched from the only seat available. The building was added to the 12th century deer park in 1767 and is much more extensive than this view suggests. It sits high in the Park adjacent to the Bishop's Palace. -watercolour and pencil
