Well, by all means have another bash at it but don't worry about getting it "right" - because if you do, you might start to worry at it. In your place, I think I'd do something else, maybe several something elses, and come back to it later. In fact, I like both of your moonlight paintings in their different ways. It isn't easy painting moonlight: the only real tip I can offer is, make sure your moonlight colours permeate every object on land, eg lay washes of your sky colour over the local colour you use for the foreground (or just mix up the appropriate mixture and apply it in one go. On the few occasions I've tried it myself, I've found Prussian Blue to be more helpful than anything else: add a little permanent Rose to it and see what happens. But try it on a bit of scrap paper first, so you won't need to blame me if it goes wrong...

Thank you Robert. i may well try it again, one day, but not yet! but definately by laying the sky colour on the land. I've enjoyed trying this subject. I've only been painting for nearly 2 years so maybe this is a little ambitious but it has been fun, none the less, and thats what its all about!!

I love the dispersion of light and clouds around the moondisk Wenda. Dotty stars look beautiful too. There is only one interpretation of the sky possible: it is definitely moonlight. Very well done

chuffed to bits! I sold this yesterday at a local exhibition, double mounted for £30!

I have tried to paint my moonlit beach a second time. I think i prefer the sky this time, and the sand, but i think i made a better job of the rocks and figures on the first attempt! can i be bothered to attempt it a third time to get it right?
