I'm very surprised that given your self aggrandising claim to be keen on photography, this posting rubbish. It looks more like an advert for the easel than an exhibition of the artwork. And why post four at once? Just choose your favourite one then get the photo right. And stop the third person crap in your biog...pretentious twaddle to be truthful. Tell us who you are and how you paint...five lines tops. Write your philosophy of life in a book and pop it out to W H Smith's. Some one might buy it as a gift at Christmas.

Thank you David for your comments I share my work for critics but I guess you prefer to attack than contribute. Happy for you to look away... perhaps into a mirror near you...Perhaps the definition of pretentious may appear.

"Perhaps the definition of pretentious may appear" It already has my friend, it already has.

I recognise your challenge in photographing this format. However it does show the scale of the work. You also have more light on the right hand side, so maybe a reflector would have been useful to show off the colours on the left hand side. The photography aside - I really like your palette and the juxtaposition of the old and the new is certainly interesting. I'm perplexed by the boat in front - It looks like a viking long boat. I would disregard the previous commenter.

It is always useful to know both the size and medium, quite important details for the viewer. Also a line or two about what inspired the painting, a visit to Portugal or perhaps you've worked from photos, with permission of course! Yes the photography is poor, I paint quite a few panoramic views and you need to stand well away and zoom in. This prevents that bowed effect and then crop out the background, all editing programmes have this facility. Properly presented work will be more likely to attract the viewer who will then be more likely to comment. Looks a decent painting mind you, but as Linda has mentioned, the boats are confusing.

For any of us to post work is a big step so it's a shame when anyone received bad comments. Anyway, keep on painting and posting; don't be deterred!
