A very quick attempt at Sumi-e painting...

I am such a fan of Japanese and Chinese art, Jim. They can do anything just with a few brush strokes and you did very well here. Great brush work and beautiful composition.

Lovely interpretation Jim, I like the delicate boat and figures also the bamboo.

I'm also a big fan of Japanese art, it is so crisp and spontaneous. Really good attempt Jim, love the huge sun.

I really like Sumi-e Japanese painting style as it is so light and fluidity paced, like allowing the elements to fashion whatever or wherever and you certainly painted this scene well Jim, the brush-strokes particularly of the bamboo,tiny inflections of leaves and the miniature figures and boat, lovely indeed!
