I finished reading to see that you were quoting the brigadoon song. I’m singing it in my head now. Your painting goes perfectly

Lovely heathery view of the braes Jim.

Thanks Diana and Fiona. Inside I'm just an old style romnatic. I've loved that movie (The Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse version of course) since I first saw it a thousand years ago.. ........"The mornin' dew is blinkin' yonder, there's lazy music in the rill, And all I want to do is wander through the heather on the hill." (-;

Beautiful colours Jim.

yes to both , Jim, having been married to my bonny Jean for 51 years before she died

Thank you Sandra ,and I'm sure your good luck in having your bonny Jean for so long outweighed everything else Mike. My sympathies.

Great colours on thae heather hills. Super verse, written in iambic tetrameter to boot. Good stuff all round. The mist of May is in the gloaming, and all the clouds are holding still, so take my hand and let's go roaming, through the heather on the hill. Very much enjoyed both. Brian

You can tell us oldies on here Jim.. I knew exactly your reference to Brigadoon....I think this is a great pic...you do these really well.

Lovely painting, lovely colours.

Thanks all and I'm so pleased to have brought a little joy to lovers of the mystical village. There's the romantic in all of us if we would just admit it. (-:

That was a smashing film Jim and so is your painting! I saw a cracking show yesterday 'Crazy for You' with Tom Chambers and Claire Sweeney. It was fantastic. All the supporting cast played instruments on stage and not just one instrument, they were so talented, they were singing and dancing too. It was Gershwin music and I've been singing 'I got Rhythm' ever since!! You would have enjoyed it I know.

Sounds great Margaret. Tom Chambers showed on Strictly Come Dancing what a talent he was on the dance floor.

I've reached 85 ( September 2024 ) years young and love to paint and draw. Watercolours are my preference used also with line and wash. I paint or sketch something most days of whatever takes my fancy. Glad to have found this site. I don't feel I have a set painting style but I tend to go for…
