The character in Coronation Street, not the actor. A man of principle, guts and , although all about him is old-fashioned to extreme in the series (I haven't watched it for yonks) , a man to admire and make an example of the word "decent". Just the view I got, a man amongst a lot of boys. Changed the title because Coronation Street it appears is on all year?
