Before I even read your comment. I thought it was Jane Eyre. I read it as a child, along with Wuthering Heights.

A good idea to go back to the authors description. Your lady has a striking appearance, and she is definitely of the period.

Not all heroes and heroines look like George Clooney or Sophia Loren...This is my version of how Jane Eyre may really look, or at least as I see her, a normal everyday governess,school teacher of the period. Looks are superficial, the goodness is inside her . In the book Charlotte Bronte has Jane describe herself as, "poor, obscure, plain and little."...I enjoyed the challenge and may take it further...
