The style of painting really adds a historical look to the portrait, as does the palette

Thanks Margaret, Thalia and Diana for the kind comments. Ever appreciated. There are no real portraits of Jane Austen and she was pre-photography, so there are no true likenesses of her.. Her sister's portrait showed a rather plain lady...but Cassaandra may just have been a lousy artist.., who knows? (-:
