My confirmation name. I’ve only tired this effect with charcoal and a wash of water a couple of times, you’ve used it to great effect here in the shading.

Jim you are bringing the memories back. We had an old picture of Bernadette praying, I remember it well it was black and white. Good drawing. Ps, when I was at school we were all taken to see the film 'Song of Bernadette'.😊

Thanks Fiona, Carole and Carole. Religious topics aren't always top of the pops with everyone, but hey, I'm religious. I also went to see Song of Bernadette as a young altar boy of about ten years. Fell in love with Jennifer Jones on the spot and promised to pray if I could meet her. That didn't last too long I'm afraid...(-: I really have been to the Marian shrine in Knock, Ireland ( my dad's family all came from County Mayo) and I actually served Mass on the shrine altar itself. In retrospect, I was very fortunate and thankful to do so. A lovely experience that I didn't truly appreciate back then. I do now!.

This is special, Jim! I too remember the film. I went to Lourdes Mount Convent High School or Young Ladies!!! There was a huge grotto with Our Lady and Bernadette in the woodlands of the school This is so like her statue!!! Thanks for bringing her!!
