Like it, Jim. The sun bleaching out the background in the doorway emphasizes the cooler shadows...you haven't used cool colours for them, but cool they are.

Thanks Lew. Brabazon's colours are nothing like mine (deliberately), his being more realistic. I got the urge to be rebellious and experiment, mainly to get results using the coloured card. I love the man's work and rate him with Singer Sargent and Russel Flint as amongst the greatest watercolour artists.

inspired by Hercules Brabazon's style and experimenting with coloured card (I bought a scrap book of sand/tan/fawn coloured card and it turned out interesting) The picture was taken almost wet, so the colours will fade somewhat, but overall I'm happy with this . 12 x 9 inch impressionist watercolour and acrylic white.
