The grain of the canvas is noticeable in this photograph - because it's such a small painting? However, I like the effect - it has transparency.

Another lovely piece, Walter. The boats and reflections are super.

Great painting Walter. I do admire your gallery so much.---- GOOD LUCK with the exhibition and charity

Thanks Robert, Yam Chew and Charles for your kind words -- Robert, you are right , the canvas has a pronounced weave probably highlighted by the fact that I photographed it as the sun was low in the sky and illuminating the canvas at a glancing angle. The canvas was a Daler-Rowney product and was double primed -- maybe I need to gesso this canvas when using dilute acrylics as in this case.

This is a small painting ~9.5x7 inches to act as a centrepiece for 10 miniatures (2.5 in sq) in a charity exhibition starting on June 2 down the coast at Anstruther. I was hoping to capture the evening haze after a hot summer's day but didn't catch it as well as I had hoped - however, not too bad. All C&Cs very welcome as always.
