Giant Hogweed

This is the plant whose sap can bring you out in huge blisters - which I hope you avoided. Excellent, sharp drawing - do you use dip pens, or something a bit more modern and convenient?

Beautiful detail Vivien

Thanks for your positive comments. Robert- iIwaited until it had dried before cutting- so no sap burns I prefer using dip pens because I like to use the nib for occasional spatters etc. but this drawing is going into an exhibition where no solid lines of any sort , in line work are allowed, so I've used a Unball Micro. Permanent ink and a very fine tip.

Added to above- by solid lines I mean thick or textured.. and no shading is allowed iether.

Absolutley stunning. I have returned several times to this drawing, and am interested to read what pens you use. I'm sure this will stand out in the exhibition.

Thank you Lynne....if you like line drawing you may find my others interesting. Flower bulb and Empty nest....Jan 2011 portfolio Frosted web...Spring 2011 portfolio. All these won awards in the same exhibition as Hogweed is going into, in previous years, so here's hoping !!!! I find drawig very relaxing and a refreshing change from painting and always pick a challenging subject.

Very attractive pen drawing Vivien.

Ink line drawing on paper.. again photographed after framing. I must remember to photograph as the work is finished next time- so easily forgotten! I really enjoy intricate drawing and this subject was a joy to work on.
