You seem to be able to portray the subject's facial expressions brilliantly. I can see that Mr Hart is sitting there reflecting on his life, surrounded by his treasures. Makes an emotive painting. Wonderful.

I wish your original photo was larger so that I could see all those background items in more detail. I'm sure they speak as much about him as does his face and those incredible hands. I don't know about the foreshortening drawing the viewer to his face, I can't stop looking at those slippers LOL.

What an excellent gallery Vincent, you bring out so much character in your portraits.

I have been going through your gallery and saying to myself. CHRIST - GOD - WOW. I'm not religious! Your work is bl...y marvellous. Such talent. You mention board? What sort of board? I have a large painting to fit frame 59 x91cms. Do you prepare your board with anything? I shall be using acrylic.

Amazing use of acrylics, stunning work.

120 x 80 cm Acrylic on board. I met Mr Brian Hart when he came to visit another artist at the same studios. He is an amazing person and we have become great friends. There are many elements included within this portrait that are personal references to his life and experiences. Within this piece I tried to use foreshortening to draw the viewer into towards the face.
