The textures on the lock plate and the iron structures are excellent, I can amost feel them. A great painting.

I have always loved rusty textures and like to incorporate them whenever I can. This photo was from Pixabay (copyright free photos) as I didn’t have anything as old and rustic to hand. I used salt, gold gouache and lifting to create the texture of the lock and surround.
