Two Poodles

Its best when doing any kind of portrait to go see subject and use a digital camera for your own photo to paint. Ive found most people have photo's that are not really that friendly to the artist when they come to paint there subjects. You need a good photo with plenty of light and shadow on the subject in order to get a nice painting. I think this painting is very very good for your first attemp at pet portraiture especially with such a bad photo to start with well done.

I have a poodle very complitated dogs personality wise...I have owned and will have another when the time comes...so any painting of a poodle for me is great my eyes were drawn immediately to them...how could anyone get them to sit still long enough to take a photo...Paul is right I have recently aquired a digital camera nad had some prints done gee there good images...so it's worth the investment
