Fabulous.

“Stuff” Tanya is any number of different things. Acrylic inks with numerous brushes, ink with dipper pens, waxy and chalky coloured pencils, inktense pencils are very good, ‘golden’ acrylics are also used as are ‘woodies’ thanks to Fiona for those. I use anything that achieves the marks I’m after, I’ve even used oil pastels on this one and chalk. Generally if something should not be done I’ll do it to see if it works, it’s only a piece of paper. Layers are built up and removed, repainted until I’m happy. I work on the whole picture. I don’t focus on any details until very near the end and some details are softened if it compromises the image. The only thing I try to hold fast to is depth and direction. You can control how to make the viewers eye follow a certain path or linger.

@Justin: wow, thank U so much for this detailed answer. I like this power very much, expressive and especially I like the tonal values.
