Thanks for all the positive comments it’s much appreciated, I’ve been working at the oils for a bit now and think I’m getting better at keeping the colours bright. It’s so easy and disastrous for me to overpaint and things end up muddy or grey

I love how black the peat is even in bright sunshine. It must be in the top five of blackest blacks, I bet Anish Kapoor tried to copyright this too.
