Lovely little sketch, Martin, was it plein air? Looks cold!!

You’ve captured the stillness Martin. Also, the restful time of year….the delicate birch almost given up the last of her cloak.

I personally prefer a bit of ‘tooth’ to my paper, but you’ve turned out a superb drawing here Martin!

I like the darks and movement in the foreground leading out to calm land and the light of sea and sky. I agree with Fiona about the birch. Good design of shapes of darks against the wonderful swirls of grasses.

Just realised I didn’t answer your question Thalia. Sorry. This was unusually not plein air. It was from a photo on my phone and from memory and done on a very wet day on holiday this summer
