You have injected atmospherRobert, in spades. Love the simplicity of this . Magic sky.

Agreed - and what also interests me about this painting is your use of Rembrandt watercolours: I've found them so clean and clear that they're almost life-changing; it's almost impossible to mix mud with them (though watch me try!). The blues especially - Cobalt and Cerulean are the ones I've tried so far - are utterly fantastic. Did you turn to them in preference to others? I would certainly like to extend my Rembrandt palette when the Daler Rowney and Winsor and Newton colours run out (both of which, I hastily add, are superb in artists' quality). Oh for a large legacy, so that I could buy whole sets of colours from different manufacturers, and play with them to my heart's content.......

So very serene :)

Thank you all for your comments. They are much appreciated. I have used Rembrandt paints almost since beginning painting, after trying a few samples and I found them to be excellent paints which give a clean fresh painting. They are a little expensive but so worth it. However they seem to be stopping producing some of the colours in the larger tubes which I prefer.

Write to 'em: sometimes a comment from artists DOES have an affect on paint manufacturers; agree with you about the larger tubes, the small ones run out so fast and discourage squeezing out a generous dollop of paint.

Rembrandt watercolours on Saunders Waterford 140ib paper. I wanted to inject atmosphere into this simplified view of the lakeland scene. Hope you enjoy.
