Nicely done Frank, not my favourite hill of the three but still one of Gods own, hints of Wainwright in your style, nice one.

Incredible detailed work Frank. The cairn stands firm and in its landscape as well as your painting.

Yea a touch of AW but this is very good. A lot of patience in this I think. A while since we did Whernside.

Pen and ink on cartridge paper. This fine cairn on the highest of Yorkshire's Three Peaks is off the beaten track, overlooking Dentdale. A few years ago we were on the hill on the day of the Three Peaks Race when the summit was as crowded as any city centre in the run-up to Christmas but the cairn at Pike was deserted. That's where we opened the lunch packs and took a break - and also took the photographs on which the drawing is based.
