Love the colours of the foliage against the snow. Herdwicks look good.

I agree, Michael, this is a very cold painting - I must have conveyed how frozen I was just sketching it! The fodder was a nice autumn colour which I enhanced to try and warm the painting up - on reflection, I may have over-done it. Your comments are great and always so descriptive. <br />Thank you, Richard for your comments on my Herwicks - they are a very distinctive breed but I find their faces difficult to paint, probably as I was brought up too far south!!!!

Came across this scene whilst walking around the village and there was only time for a couple of photos. Painted later the same day whilst the subject was still fresh in my mind. Arches 300lbs Rough
