Before and after the rain by Anthony Stubbs
Wet coastal moorland. Liberally adapted from a previous work. An attempt to convey that interlude between heavy rain showers and the brief glimmer of light about to be extinguished again. It actually evolved quite considerably from what I first held in my minds eye. Mainly using acrylic, with a little Indian ink and employing various techniques, impasto, layering, glazing, spattering, sgraffito etc, and, as usual my usual cast of non-art implements. On stretched canvas, 56cm x 50cm
