Nicely done Anthony, excellent drawing.

I'm edging (slowly - oh, VERY slowly!) to 70 myself. And the one thing I've discovered is that you have to manage all this extra time retirement offers, or you'll waste most of it. The discipline of work goes - and you can spend all day just staring out of the window. Mind you - there are worse things to do. Pencil drawing, I think, is a great deal more difficult than almost anything else - it's harder to get right than painting; it's certainly harder than the challenges posed by charcoal, conté, and carbon. It's even more difficult than pen and ink, because all that really requires is confidence - get over the fear of applying dense black to white paper, and orf you go. I was better with pencil around 50 years ago than I am now, because I don't do enough of it, and I've got a bit frightened of it: but I'll take inspiration from you, because this is a good image - tonal variation and gradation, good composition (half the battle) and a light touch where it's needed, stronger accents elsewhere. Keep going!

Superb work, Anthony. I love the fact that you've left solid whites here and there...a discipline I don't have. A pleasure to look at fine work like this.

Really good drawing Anthony.
