Hawkshead

I love these two paintings Tony, so very like the lake district. Well done.

What you might call a proper job. -- Both are wonderful paintings---. Takes me back in time but I do remember both places well

Tony, I like your concept in this very much. I love Hawkshead, used to know it very well. It does bother me, though, that the dark conifer on the right mid-field keeps demanding my attention. It's a lovely 'loose' tree, but I think if the foreground elements were to be at least equal to it in tonal value, your painting would have really good impact. Felt it was worth pointing out, but feel free to ignore, it is only my immediate reaction on seeing it. Colour and composition are very attractive.

I remember Hawkshead, just about. In fact I did do a painting of it from the other side up on the hill behind the graveyard, looking down into Hawkshead. This painting is terrific.Well done.
