We have a couple of these visiting the garden; I inadvertently referred to them one day as 'greater wooded spotpeckers', but one is a little prone to that sort of thing.

Nice work, Tony. Fascinating birds...there were several on the golf course I used to go to (when my knees worked). It was astonishing to hear the noise they made wood-pecking

This is excellent Tony, such a striking bird. We only get them at the feeders from this time of year until autumn.
