Morning Coffee

Morning Coffee

I love this. It's free and you have used great colours, but I suppose your environment is more colourful than ours!

Yes, bright and vivid, another world to ours right now.

Lovely colours and shadows.

Thank you Gudrun, Lewis and Ellen. I'm almost afraid to tell you that the light was so blinding when I started i had to move further into shadow, hence the bright Hansa yellow and the haze. I think you all need a Gozitan holiday and some sunshine!! The sun, though, at the moment is not that hot, and the shade is cold. the Mediterranean is cold in the winter!

I like the newer version Thalia!

Strong , bold and very attractive Thalia.

Phew, Margaret!!! Yes i think i do too, it took my breath away painting so fast to grab the people as they walked along! Thank you also, Sylvia, that's praise indeed!

You have created a lovely feeling of light in this beautiful loose fresh painting Thalia.

This is very attractive and freely painted - even though you adjusted!

Haven’t seen the other version yet, but this is super Thalia.

I feel I know the area now Thalia with all your lovely paintings.

Everything is suggestive, yet so real. Lovely technique Thalia.

Thank you very much Barry, Maureen, Fiona, Marjorie and Ibolya, you are all very kind and I really appreciate your comments, very helpful and confidence-building!!

Hang on Studio Wall

This is the slightly adjusted final picture that I did en plein air yesterday morning. I have tried to define the figures to make them at least vaguely resemble people! Unfortunately the three elderly gentlemen drinking their coffee left before i had a chance to paint them or photograph them so they are guesswork outside Cafe Royale!!
