Lovely tranquil scene Thalia, I like the highlights on the cliff side and the variegated colour in the reflections.

Like the composition with the castle in the background. Lovely colours.

I think I know what you’re aiming at here Thalia and reckon you’ve achieved it by taking the boats off centre and off the edge of the painting, rather than “framing “ them. Lovely reflections and distance work.

Lovely boat scene with great tranquil water Thalia.

Love the shadows in this and your eyes are drawn to the building in the distance 😀

Thalia this is spectacular. What a beautiful place to be. It has a charm and restful mess achieved through composition and reflections.

Great boats and I love the dark reflections.

Love what you have done with the rocks Thalia, and of course always love your colourful boats.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments, thanks Dennis, Thanks Stephen, I was trying for a more painterly approach! Thank you Margaret, not a castle as such, but the Knights of Malta built numerous watchtowers here in an attempt to stop the inhabitants being taken into slavery. Tessa, thank you, that's a great help, I'll keep that hint in mind! Thank you Jim, flat as a bat it was! Thank you Linda, another helpful hint! Thank you Carole, a lot of building work going on in Xlendi at the moment, this was from a photo I took a while back! Thank you Alan, very kind remark, I love it when i get my darks right! Thank you, Sandra, I haven't used this colour on rocks...it's actually flesh tint toned down with a little white and a touch of ultramarine

Love this Thalia. Looks great.

I love this one Thalia, the boat, of course is fabulous and I love the colours in the rocks. I think this is slightly more detailed than previous paintings and this is right up my street!

Lovely colour reflections, I like this Thalia.

Great colours and light, Thalia

I have painted this scene again, using a slightly different palette, and technique. I heightened the colours of the rocks slightly, and used a looser brush stroke, trying to achieve a painting 'about' the lovely boat, rather than 'of' it...if that makes any sense!!!
