Lovely painting and interestingly reminds me a bit of Vann Gough's style. I like it a lot.

Absolutely beautiful and what a great idea to leave some of the sea as background.

Wow Thalia for once a rainy day has brought about something lovely- a beautiful painting.

This is lovely, Thalia. Love the reds and the blues.

Thank you very much, Lyn, Sandra, Tessa, and Shirley. I really enjoyed the challenge...I just let fly with loaded brush and knife and there it was!!

Lovely, Thalia. I see you are from Stourport. I was raised in Kidderminster.

Thank you Seth and Gudrun. My husband's family all came from Rock, I count Worcestershire as my home, as i lived there many years, but I'm actually a Londoner born. If you look at today's posts from Jessica Rose, that's exactly my childhood home! Hanwell Lock and Brentford Boatyard!!!

That is lovely with bright flowers on a rainy day. And all in 90 mins.

That certainly brightens up the day - colourful and bold.

They look fabulous Thalia, such a gorgeous red which really stands out against the sea in the background.

I don't like painting roses myself but these look absolutely gorgeous. Works well with that wave background.

Thank you very much Richard, Maureen, Margaret and Ibolya. Yes Richard, I don't have any problem with fast!!! My biggest problem is slowing down and accuracy!!! Guess I'm trying to make up for all those "lost" years and putting all of it into my "Now" !!!

Bought these roses in Lidl to brighten a rainy windswept day. I know roses are notoriously difficult to paint so I gave myself a challenge to paint them in 90 minutes. I cheated a bit as they are painted over a painting of waves that I hated. i simply painted them over it and left the sea as the background, putting in a curtain on the right and the windowsill! Well, we do overlook the sea!!!
