I love it, Tessa, and wonder which areas you're considering darkening. Darker tones would push the highlights to the fore but I wouldn't overcook things, as the light is already looking great. Bri

Many thanks Carole, Jan, Louisa, Margaret, Michael and Bri. Well I’m really happy with your comments and glad that you all seem to think the light and shadows are right! Bri, I was thinking of maybe darkening the general area behind the flowers, but I’ve actually already darkened it a couple of shades, so in view of the positive words, I think I’m going to leave as is. Thanks again all.

12x10” oil on board started in the garden over the Easter weekend and finished indoors. Not sure I’ve made the background dark enough as strong sunlight when I started but not later- the joys of plein air!
