I love Heligan Tessa, I remember when they rediscovered the gardens then set about bringing them back to their former glory. It’s a magical place and this is a magical painting....beautiful.

I’ve walked over that little bridge this summer Tessa.. lovely painting.

Glad you recognised the bridge Rachel, it was great until someone behind me started swaying it!

Brilliant, Tessa, and yes I know Heligan well, you evoke the true feel of the place in this.

Oil on canvas 20x16”. This is a compilation of scenes from different areas of the gardens which I spent a day at with my art group last month. I hadn’t been that keen to go but thought it was absolutely wonderful. I read the recent series by Martin Kinnear in The Artist magazine where he described painting a feeling of a place rather than a single view and this is what I’ve attempted here. Hopefully it will be part of a group or series of paintings.
