Thank you all for your kind comments. Here’s a little true story to go with this. A few years ago a smiley Joanna Lumley held open the door of Fortnum and Mason for myself and a friend who went for a quick visit after going to the RA nearby, no sign of pretension there! We gasped, smiled back and thanked her, then went on to gasp at the prices. The shop is absolutely fabulous darlings, but we left without buying. 😊
