Teasel Sunrise

Comments

I love the light and the teasels in the foreground, beautiful.

Thank you Karen. Oops how did I manage to put this on twice!

Lovely light, Tessa. I love the title😁 and the palette, too.

Tessa, this is just lovely. I would love to have a go at a sunrise/sunset but I’m a scardy pants! Love the way the light glints on the teasels and across the land.

Many thanks Marjorie and Fiona. The title was partly because half way through this I thought my teasels looked rather tree like! Fiona, I can’t believe you wouldn’t handle a sunrise/set beautifully- dare you!

Oh Tessa, don’t do that to me……I can’t resist a dare! Lol. But I know I’ll make a complete hash of a sunset/rise.

But I know you won’t Fiona! 🤣

Tessa, thank you for you lovely words on my last posting. Reference the colour mixing…..I know it can be an expense but if you haven’t already got a tube of Vermilion, treat yourself. I’ve only just started to use it since we started to do the latest still life class “painting in the style and palette” of various artist….as you are aware. Vermilion, in the most, was one of their usual colours. I’ve found that mixing vermilion with any blue, makes the most fabulous range of greys, with white as well of course! Adding it to mixed greens to neutralise works well. If you are already aware, ignore the above….hope your art class went well, good to be back at it!

Thanks for the info Fiona. I believe I have some in my ‘real oils’! Will check it out. 👍🏻😊

My daughter sent me a photo of the sunrise yesterday morning with teasels in the foreground and a little ice still on the ground. This is an 8x6” water mix able oil and I gave myself a limit of two hours.
