There’s something about old decaying doors, and you’ve caught it. Really good work Tessa.

Special Tessa.

Just brilliant Tessa. I love how you’ve done the door and I love the fluid marks around it.

You have captured great character in your door Tessa. I especially like the age and wear on the door.

Very good!

The shadow sets this piece off beautifully Tessa.

This is really good Tessa .

Love the battered door, so real

Full of character, Tessa. Lots of texture too.

Wow Tessa it looks so good, you have captured some great colours and texture on both the door and the walls .

Thank you all! It was a fun day and much good work produced. Good to have an inspiring demo from Kevin.

Super shadows Tessa and a wealth of interest behind those doors. Love the textures of the plaster and door.

Wonderful Tessa.

I love the colours in this and the abstraction around the door as well as the door itself. Beautifully painted!

You have captured the wood grain for this old door really well Tessa and love the muted blues and greys with dark line , it is quaint and the shadows turned out great too!

Thank you all so much. It makes the day even better to have your lovely comments. x

Lovely - a really good watercolour Tessa

Excellent Tessa, I too love paintings of old doors and they usually work well with a frame. I have a photo of a door in hand that I keep saying I must paint, but ….

Lovely Tessa; I like the mix of watercolour and acrylic in your painting.

It's a realistic painting of the old door, but I really like the abstraction to the left of the door, and the balance of the different textures/surfaces.

Totally agree with Lewis, there's a mystery about them and the stories they could tell, and you've caught it, Tessa!

Thank you all, your comments mean a lot, and Frank, get those brushes out pal!

That looks like you had fun painting it. In a good way I mean

Love old doors Tessa, lovely rendition of cracked plaster and old brickwork.

I especially like the range of subtle colour in the door.

Thanks again, am delighted with the response to this which is not my usual style or subject- what does that tell me!? I have been working on a second similar work but not entirely going well at the moment and could end on the scrap heap. 😩

I also find old buildings visually interesting; well done.

Can't beat an old door. Great.

Very nice work. Tessa.
